Hey everyone — Mike, here. I know firsthand how tempting it is to hit that “Update Later” button when you’re in the middle of work. You're busy. The pop-up always shows up at the worst time. You just want to keep going.
But here’s the truth: every time you postpone a software update; you're leaving your digital front door wide open.
These updates aren’t just about shiny new features. They're critical security patches that fix known vulnerabilities—holes that hackers are actively looking for. In fact, most ransomware attacks and data breaches exploit out-of-date software. It’s not just Microsoft updates, you need to keep your other software applications updated as well.
Here's My Advice:
- Set updates to run automatically after business hours.
- Make sure all company devices—laptops, desktops, mobile—are covered.
- Work with your MSP (that’s us!) to monitor compliance and confirm updates are installed properly.
Skipping updates might save you 10 minutes now, but it could cost you days of downtime, data loss, or worse later.
Stay safe,
Mike
