Employee Spotlight: Julie Massaro — ISM’s Accounting Ace & Office Mom Extraordinaire
If there’s a heartbeat behind ISM’s operations, it’s Julie Massaro. Her career began in Lewistown at the legendary Kentucky Fried Chicken—proof that even great leaders sometimes start with great chicken. After moving to Helena in 1984, Julie spent an incredible 28 years at MHESAC/Student Assistance Foundation, later worked in accounting for another local business, and finally joined ISM in March 2022. And we’re so glad she did.
As ISM’s Accounting Manager, Julie does… well, everything. Accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, onboarding new employees, setting up new client accounts—if it keeps ISM running, Julie probably handles it. She also proudly serves as ISM’s “office mother,” making sure everyone is supported, smiling, and taken care of.
What does she love most about her role? “Being around the team and helping everyone succeed.”
Julie’s hobbies are just as heart-centered: spending time with family and friends, plus cooking and baking for the people she loves. Her favorite movie is The Sound of Music, her favorite book is Charlotte’s Web, and her favorite place to unwind is Flathead Lake, a lifelong family tradition.
ISM wouldn’t be the same without Julie’s warmth, reliability, and heart-of-gold presence.
