Employee Spotlight: Ryan Barrett
Meet Ryan Barrett, one of ISM’s Help Desk Technicians and a guy who genuinely enjoys solving problems and helping people get their technology working the way it should.
Ryan attended Montana State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science. His interest in technology may also run in the family—his dad worked as an IT professional for the VA after serving in the military and being deployed multiple times during Ryan’s childhood. Ryan says his dad is the person he admires most.
Before computers became the career plan, though, Ryan had another goal in mind: playing professional baseball in the MLB. While the big leagues didn’t quite work out, baseball is still a big part of his life. Ryan enjoys playing and following baseball, collecting baseball cards, and participating in fantasy football.
His list of interests doesn’t stop there. Outside of work, Ryan stays busy with weightlifting, running, basketball, fishing, camping, chess, cooking, and video games. He’s also a fan of Deadpool, enjoys the television series Bleach, and counts The Hangover among his favorite movies. For something a little more literary, his favorite book is The Metamorphoses of Ovid.
One more fun fact about Ryan: he was born a twin!
Whether he’s troubleshooting a computer problem, checking his fantasy lineup, adding to his baseball card collection, or planning another trip to his favorite city, Boston, Ryan brings plenty of interests—and personality—to the ISM team.
